WHO WE ARE

Our Roots

Holy Roots is a fundamentalist ministry that places all emphasis on God and His Word, not peoples. We share God's grace and love to others while still being candid as well as His blunt truth.  We aren't ashamed to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we teach the world to repent from their wicked ways and turn to God/righteousness.  We also teach believers how to become seasoned in God's Word and reject their selfish/prideful and lacking ways to the ways of Christ.  God is the only One who really matters, without Him, emptiness and misery are a sure thing.

✞DOCTRINAL STATEMENT✞

✞THE HOLY BIBLE✞

We believe the Holy Bible is the perfect and sovereign Word of God.  We are a Textus Receptus/KJV only ministry, the only manuscripts true to God's Word, unlike all the newer translations that are based on the corrupt/counterfeit critical text.

✞THE TRINITY✞

We believe that God exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Ghost with the same perfect nature.

✞THE FALL OF PEOPLE✞

We believe that men were created in the image and glory of God while women were created in the glory of man.  We believe Adam willingly fell into sin and because so death.  Therefore, every person is sinful and under condemnation to eternal judgement.

✞SALVATION✞

We believe that the salvation is solely obtained through Jesus Christ by grace through faith.  This is done by 100% believing Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for the sins of all mankind and He rose again the third day to pay for all sin, repenting of one's past evil ways and dying to self to completely accept Him as one's personal Lord and Savior.

✞THE OPENNESS OF SALVATION✞

We believe that the salvation is for any and every one regardless of what background as long as they sincerely (100%) accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

✞ETERNAL SALVATION FOR THE BELIEVER✞

We believe that those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are eternally saved; no one can take the believer out of God’s hands

✞HEAVEN AND HELL✞

We believe in eternal salvation, in Heaven, for the true followers of Jesus Christ and eternal damnation, in Hell, for the wicked/lost who reject Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

✞THE CHURCH✞

We believe that the church is the body of Christ in totality, but also fellowshipping

together to worship and glorify God.

✞CURRENT TRENDS IN THEOLOGY✞

We teach God’s Word and not people’s popular opinions and take a separatist stance pertaining to the present trends that teaches the opposite of God’s Word and undermines the fundamentals of the faith.

MATTHEW

Matthew 1 - Provides short introduction chapter connecting the lineage from Abraham and David, ultimately to Jesus Christ, just as prophecy from the Old Testament.  It briefly discusses how Mary becomes pregnant and how the angel advises Joseph not to put her away privately as he planned, because he thought she was unfaithful...
Matthew 2 - Discusses the birth of Christ and how they had to go to Egypt to flee from Herod and then they come back after his death to find out his son is, and then they go to live in Nazareth which further fulfills prophecy that the Messiah will be called a Nazarene....
Matthew 3 - Explains how Jesus is baptized by John and John is intimidated because it is Christ, John thinks Jesus should be baptizing him but Jesus tells John that John needs to baptize him to gain full righteousness.
Matthew 4 - The devil tries to tempt Jesus to use his power and later Jesus hears that John is being imprisoned and on his way there he meet 2 fisherman who become "fisherman of men".  It's significant to notice how He just meets Andrew and Peter.  They had just dropped their nets in the water to catch fish and instead of telling Jesus to wait and they would come after they wait to gather the fish, they just immediately leave to follow Him and left their nets there.  Similarly, John and James immediately drop the nets they were mending to follow Jesus.  This is very significant as we are to drop everything to follow Him!
Matthew 5 - Jesus explaining the full extent of living righteous and not just trying to look it as the Pharisees.  He explains how one needs to have a pure heart and if one sins in their heart but doesn't publicly show it, it's the same the sane thing as doing the action.  Sin is at the heart and mind and is reflected through ones actions.
Matthew 6 - Discusses more about true Christianity and how to be pure hearted and not evil wolves in sheep's clothing pretending to be righteous.  It discusses the importance of forgiveness and how God will not forgive one who does not forgive their brothers. It also places much emphasis on serving God and not the world and how one cannot do both, love one and hate the other.  Jesus explains the importance of seeking only the things of God and not this world.
Matthew 7 - It discusses judging someone by their fruit/actions.  And not doing it hypocritically, like a thief judging another thief, but instead turn from that to clearly see and help the thief.  It also discusses how the path to righteousness and very few will walk it while the path to evil/destruction and many will walk it.  It also discusses how many will see God and He will tell them how they weren't authentic and to depart from Him as they were people of wickedness.
Matthew 8 - Illustrates different miracles of Jesus healing the weak and sick and demon possessed. It is good to pay attention how He does these things and there are huge crowds that follow Him for now, but soon they will not be.  Another critical theme in this chapter pertains to how a disciple says he will follow Him wherever He goes.  Jesus replies foxes have holes and birds have best but the Son of Man has no where to lay His head.  This is very significant and means that He is homeless and expect it in following Him.  Same with next next few who want to make excuses or have other priorities over following Him.  Let the dead bury the dead.  One that is not mentioned in this book but in another (Synoptic gospel) the book of Luke, is another one says to let a man say good bye first then He will follow Him, but Jesus instructs him that anyone who puts their hand on the plough and looks back is not fit for the Kingdom.  In other Words, whoever desires God/Christianity and has a taste of it but looks back/desires or misses the world and its wickedness, is not fit for the Kingdom of Heaven.
Essentially, following Jesus Christ means to abandon everything and self to follow Him and His righteousness!
Matthew 9 - Jesus continues to heal the sick. Also he desires mercy not sacrifice for he doesn't call on righteous people but instead sinners then at the end Jesus looks at the following of people as sheep that are lost looking for a shepherd.  He does desire sacrifice, but for that reference He is referring to quoting Hosea 6:6, "For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings".  Our walk with Christ requires sacrifice everyday, but love, mercy, and obedience are much more important and we will automatically sacrifice if we do versus having emphasis on traditional sacrifice as a culture or regular act and being empty as the pharisees.  Just don't want any confusion there for anyone as it can be sometimes.  Which can also be seen in 1 Samuel 15:33....  Like sacrificing ones time to go to church every Sunday or Saturday means absolutely nothing if the person has no love, truth, obedience or mercy and aren't living for Christ.
Matthew 10 - Talked about Jesus and his 12 disciples and going out to spread the word until cast out to the next city and not to be afraid of one that can kill the body but fear the one that can both body and soul. It's also good to note how He sent them without anything, and in Luke, it records Him asking the apostles if they lacked anything and they replied, "no, nothing".  We don't need anything but God, and that is a significant issue, especially with the church leadership trying to make paychecks off of the gospel rather than just doing it for God and others and only being provided house and food as in this chapter and others.  Place our eyes on God and Heaven only, not this world.
Matthew 11 - Jesus denounces the towns the miracles were preformed in simply because there didn't repent and it will be hard for each one to explain that on judgement day he even sent one to hades. Them at the end of the chapter he tells people come to me who are weary and burdened I will give you rest he also says learn from me and you will find rest for your soul.  The part about John just displays how there was no-one greater than John but the least in Heaven is greater than him.  John was still on earth and not made Holy and perfect yet as everyone already in Heaven.  He was going to Heaven but wasn't there yet and even though he was very Godly, he still had sin occasionally, like he did when he doubted...  Yes, the places He compares were destroyed by God and Jesus explains that if those miracles were done in the places He went to were done in the destroyed places, they would gave repented and wouldn't have been destroyed, so because of that their judgement will be much worse for them, and yes one will be sent to Hell.  As you mentioned, Jesus burden is light and that's what makes the significant difference m that we put all burdens on Him because we can't take them alone!  We see the world trying and continuously declining and becoming more crazy, more suicidal and more depressed.
Matthew 12 - Jesus is facing a lot of questions from the scribes and the Pharisees. They first question his motive of performing miracles On the sabbath days. Jesus answers them, telling them that it is not wrong to do things during sabbath provided the deeds are right and beneficial.  Jesus uses Old Testament to explain how it is not wrong to do good on the Sabbath.  How a person's heart is shown by their actions, whether good or evil.

Matthew 13 - Is centered around parables about people who hear God's Word, the end of the world, and the Kingdom of Heaven!  He explains what they mean and their significance.  And He was hated by His own country.  Any questions, please feel free to ask!  I pray you are all well!
Matthew 14 - Covered John the Baptist death, Jesus does the miracle of making food for over 5,000 people out of 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.  This is also the chapter of when Jesus goes to pray alone and sends the Apostles off ahead.  The disciples see something and are scared as they think it is a spirit and they cried out but Jesus replies that it is Him.  Having faith, Peter ask to come to Him and starts to walk to Jesus, but when the wind started picking up, probably also causing some degrees of waves too, he lacks the initial faith and begins sinking.  Jesus calls him out about doubting and having little faith.  A critical thing to also notice from this is the part about them crying out, we see in the other synoptic gospel, Mark 6:48-50 "And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.  But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out.  For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid."  This adds more clarification that Jesus was actually going to pass them until they cried out.  God will not force anything on us or to us, but we must first call on Him genuinely and He will be faithful to come!
Matthew 15 - Explains to not be fooled or deceived easily.  That and again placing emphasis on people who just praise God with their mouth but they are far from Him in their hearts, which is made known by their actions.  And how what comes out of a man or what he does defiles him and again, his actions reflect his heart. And Jesus, again having compassion on the people following.
Matthew 16 - Discusses how the disciples need to beware the false doctrine of the Sadducees and pharisees.  It also discusses faith again and He references the 2 past miracles He did with the bread, yet, His disciples were still lacking faith and worried about the bread because they were blinded by their flesh.  Peter proclaims boldly that Jesus is the Christ.  It also references how whoever does not die to self and take up their torture device for Christ is not worthy of Him.  Love you guys and I pray you have an awesome day!  If you guys need anything please let me know!  Bless you all!
Matthew 17 -  Jesus takes His 3 favorite apostles to a high mountain.  And He was transfigured before Him.  And is this transfiguration we see that John the Baptist, is Elias (Greek) which is Elijah (Hebrew), and has the power and spirit of the Old Testament Elijah, but not the same person.  (This can be a little confusing and if needed, I can provide additional commentary, just ask if needed).  The disciples question about how the scribes say Elias must come first and Jesus explains that he already has and everything has already been fulfilled and done unto him (John the Baptist) as it will to Jesus Himself.  Jesus explains how they still lack faith and then explains how some evil cannot be rebuked without fasting and prayer.  Then Jesus explains to them again how He will be betrayed, murdered and will rise again the third day!  It can be helpful to read this chapter several times to attain clarity, God bless!
Matthew 18 - I believe it has a lot to do with forgiveness and sacrifice as it talks about a servant owing money being forgiven in one instance but when one cannot do the same for another that burden is put back on him. It also talks how sacrifice how Jesus sacrifice anything rather than going to hell with everything!
Matthew 19 - Deals with the only reason a man can divorce his wife and how she cannot marry again.  Much emphasis is on the rich young man who claimed he followed God's law since his youth but he was not willing to leave it to follow Christ, demonstrating his lack of righteousness, humility, selflessness.  He was too selfish, prideful, and greedy to leave behind what he valued most.  This is essential and required for every Christian, to leave everything behind to follow Jesus Christ.
Matthew 20 - primarily deals with with Christians putting themselves last.  So true Leaders will be servants and not the so-called leaders today who get served.  Jesus also explains how He is the epitome of a leader as He is God in the flesh and instead of coming down here and being a person of high status or a king/ruler, He came down as a lowly carpenter of Nazareth to serve and give His life so we could be saved and experience true love, peace, righteousness, truth, and true life.
Matthew 21 - deals with Jesus entering Jerusalem and goes to the temple doing business in the temple instead of its intended purpose of prayer and spiritual growth (sounds a lot like the modern churches of America, without the money changers and birds,  but with entertainment, books, etc.). We also see the pharisees still being evil and trying to find fault in Jesus and Jesus asks them about the baptism of John and if it was of God or men and they couldn't answer either way because if they said it was of God, they would show they were evil not to believe and follow, but if they lied and said of men, they were afraid of the people who knew John was a prophet of God, similar to the end when they knew He spoke parables against them and they wanted to take him but were scared of the people who thought Jesus was only a Prophet.
Matthew 22 - is primarily about the parable regarding how people many people are called but only few are chosen.  And judgment will come upon those who reject His offer of salvation which many did/do and had/have an excuse. We have read about John the Baptist and how no man born among women was greater than him and how he was prophesied to lead the way for Christ.  So Jesus asks them a no win question that they could not answer.  So if they do admit that John the Baptist was really a man of God and everything about his teachings and baptisms, etc. then it would show their true colors and how they were not of God but wicked by rejecting him and of course God, as God sent him to preach the message.  But on the other hand, they could not say he had teachings of man (the world/false teachings) because they were very greedy and power-stricken pleasers of people, and the people viewed John the Baptist highly as a prophet of God.  If they rejected him as a false teacher than they knew it would stir up the people and cause issues with them and their power.  Similar to what is seen nowadays with the modern church doctrines compromising true sound doctrine for worldly ones to please people and increase selfish gain/popularity and power or same thing with politicians, just say what everyone wants to hear instead of the truth...  So the Pharisees decide to say they cannot tell to avoid either answer and the negative consequences that were sure to follow...
Matthew 23 - continues to deal with the wicked and uses the scribes and Pharisees again about how they say but don't do (like chapter 21) and how they love to buff their garments up and their pride from being greeted in the public or sitting in the high status upper rooms, etc.  But Christ explains how this is the opposite of a true follower of God and how the humble will be exalted (elevated) while the ones who exalt themselves will be humbled.  How true believers and leader don't need a high title as that belongs to God.  And how they try to look clean on the outside but are truly ugly and full of wickedness on the inside and how they can't go in the Kingdom of Heaven and also cause many to fall and be shut out from Heaven too by their false teachings.  Similar to most of the pastors today who are purposely teaching false doctrine for selfish motives.
Matthew 24 - deals a lot with prophecy.  Jesus prophesies that the temple will be destroyed completely and it is 40 years later.  He explains what will take place from His ascension to His second coming and how many false prophets will come, lawlessness, betrayal, etc.  And how Jesus will come and no one will have any clue when...
I am going to start leaving the weekends off, but feel free to ask any questions, especially when it is about stuff like this or parables.
Matthew 25 - is an awesome!  Jesus Christ gives some more parables about the faithful/righteous and unfaithful/wicked who live for themselves and give the "I'll submit and follow God later or when I get older" mentality and how Jesus Christ will come back when no one will know!
Matthew 26 - starts with Jesus explaining to the Apostles that He will be betrayed and murdered by crucifixion.  A woman comes to put very precious ointment on Jesus's head.  We see Judas going to the Pharisees to see what he would get to betray Jesus.  Then they have the Passover feast and Jesus explains what will happen next, that He will be betrayed, that they will be scattered that night, etc.  Then He takes His three favorite Apostles and goes to the Garden of Gethsemane and prays to God, and asks the three apostles watch and pray with Him as the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, but they fall asleep twice.  Then Judas and the chief priests come for Jesus.  And then Peter denies being with Christ 3 times as prophesied by Christ.
Matthew 27 - was talking about Jesus' crucifixion and how all prophecies were coming to light (betrayal, crows, denial) and how the governor was basically trying to put Jesus' fate into the people's hands and not his own knowing what they would say.  Pilate knew that they had delivered Jesus because of envy and evil so he tried to release Him and prevail with reason about Jesus being just and done no evil, even his wife knew that He was just from nightmares that day, but he could not prevail and tumult was created instead.  He didn't want this as he was a people please and any chaos would get him in trouble with the higher ups. So he let them do as they pleased but announced his innocence of the innocent blood of Jesus Christ.  We then see the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and once He dies, the Earth shook and the "veil" in the temple was torn!  The veil is significant because it had to be in place to separate God from the people because of sin and only a pure/righteous priest could beyond the veil for sacrifices to God, but now we have direct access to God through Jesus Christ as He has paid the cost for all of a Christian's sin!
Matthew 28 - is short and precise.  It is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and He raises the third day and regardless of the Pharisees trying to stop Him.  He returns and spends some time with the Apostles and instructs them to spread and teach all the world.
